HUD Foreclosed - Foreclosure Network

Hey fellow agents, loan officers, contractors, appraisers... I'd love to connect with anyone who is serious about growing their business. Let's share tips, stories, tools, maybe even clients??? What's working and what isn't? Who is good to work with and who isn't? Let's get a dialog going.

Hi, I am a real estate broker and just joined the network. Have been in the business almost 25 years. Am having a problem now with a property I saw with my buyer TOTALLY ABANDONED. Neighbor says an elder lady lived there, went to Oregon with her daughter who lives in Oregon, and PASSED AWAY there. There is a lockbox on the front door. It is not in the MLS and I checked many different county mls's. It does not show as being on the county probate list; I do not know the daughter's name or address.

Any ideas on how to make contact with the daughter? All I have is a first name.

First thought: Talk to more neighbors. Somebody has to know something...

You should also be able to look up the property owner by contacting the city tax assessor or by running a title report.

Hi, All you really need is a last name of the elderly woman and either approx. age or birthday. You can then do a background check on the internet. Alot of sites will give you at least relatives names and where they live. From there you should be on the right track. I would talk to neighbors or go online to see the property info. it should have the name of the owner of the home/previous owner so you can get the last name and perhaps more contact info. from there.

Here's a question for you that perhaps you can help me with. I'm a 26 year old biomedical engineer. Have been out of school since 2004. Recently got engaged and was thinking about buying a home. But my fiance doesn't want to stay in Wisconsin and I love my job here and don't plan to leave for a while. So, buying is currently out of the question. I would like to rent a home but am having trouble finding places other than apartments. Do you know of any websites or have any suggestions as to how I may find info. or who would be a good idea to speak with on home rental inquiries? I tried home rental as a google search but only get apt. info. I would really like to rent a home with a yard so at least I can get a better feel for what kind of home, size, area, etc.. I like. Any suggestions????

My email address is cassie_mallon@hotmail.com

Oh for your search, start by going to the city clerk homepage online and there should be a link for property info. You can get what you are looking for there. Then once you have the last name use intellius to do your search. You can get a little bit of info for free but will have to pay for anything more detailed. For what you are looking for the $4.95 purchase should be enough.

Hope it helps.
